The title looks like this:

The Track Matte looks like this:

I put the title and the track matte and the music into a 2nd sequence. I set the track matte to 50% opacity over the titler so I could easily set the position of the title in the white section using the unnumbered markers I set while playing the music (using the asterisk key on the numeric keyboard). I then deleted the track matte from the sequence, as well as the music. Both of those will be used in the main sequence.
I set the video into track one of the main sequence, then the second sequence on track 2. The track matte went on track 3, and I placed the track matte effect on to the title, setting the track to track three and using the luma instead of alpha setting.
The key to moving the title with the position parameter is in understanding that it is possible to start with one setting, run a few seconds at that position, set the keyframe again (at the same position) and then move one frame and change the position. It makes the title jump from one line to the next.
The ECW looks like this when on an ending keyframe:
And it looks like this on the very next keyframe, which is only one frame farther down the timeline:
They are only one frame apart, yet the position went from 360,614 to 360,568
This continues for a few seconds and the very next keyframe is also set at 360,568, and then one frame later it is changed.
