About Steven Gotz

Clip / Crop Effect

This page is to show how it is possible to create the 24 effect. Pictures can be resized and clipped
or just clipped, or just resized. None of the changes were done in Photoshop so the same
principles apply to video as they do to stills.

This is the original picture. It has been resized from 1536X1024 to 640X427 for this web page.
The person who took the shot is a cousin of my wife's and she didn't set the date on the camera.
Bad enough the date is on the picture, but the date is also wrong. This was taken in March 2003.
And my wife and I are both a lot lighter - these pictures put us on a diet.

This is the same shot as used in a video. The picture was clipped, then repositioned with Motion. The fill color
when clipping was set to pure green (RGB 0,255,0). Then the Chroma Key was set for Green Screen.

Note: In Premiere Pro simply use the Crop effect without Zoom and no chroma key will be required.

The shots were also resized with Motion as required.
